S89 Court Events -Add

 

Possible Error Messages

 Purposes:

 

This screen allows MIMS users to update MIMS records to reflect externally initiated court activity (notices of motion).

 

Prerequisites:

 

  1. MIMS user must be an authorized actor to update on this screen.

        The following actors have the ability to update:

           

·         Compliance 5 Agent

·         MEP Senior Management

·         SIU Agent

·         System Administrator

 

Letters:

·         L11 – Notice of Motion Received Letter (see glossary of letters for letter sample)

 

Helpful Hints:

 

·         A letter is generated to the primary creditor if the type of court event being added is ‘Notice of Motion – Debtor’.

·         A work task is issued to the Administrative Assistant to retain counsel if Intervention is required.

·         A work task is issued to initiator of Court event to prepare brief if Intervention is required.

Procedure:

 

1.       If file number is unknown, press the Search button, this will allow a search using other criteria. Link on the required file number to auto populate the MEP File number and press the Get button

2.       If the file number is known enter a file number and press the Get button.

3.       Select the appropriate Court Location.

4.       Enter the Court Date in the Date field.

5.       Select the appropriate time from the Time drop down list.

6.       Select the appropriate type from the Type drop down list.

7.       Indicate if Intervention is required or not

8.       Enter a Bring Forward Date

9.       Enter any applicable remarks if required.

Description/Instructions

File Details

File Number

Displays the File number the actor requested

File Status

Displays the current status of the File and if the file is an Active ISO In or ISO Out

Creditor

Displays the name of the Primary Creditor related to the MEP File requested

Debtor

Displays the name of the Debtor related to the MEP File request

Displays if the Party is related to more than 1 file

Status

Displays the important Alerts related to the file and actor can hyperlink to view any other alerts that may be related to the file.

Compliance Level

Displays the Current compliance level of the MEP file.

Provisional File

Displays the Provisional file that is related to the file.  If field is blank then provisional file is not related.

Add Segment

Court Location

Using the ‘Court Location’ drop down box, select the appropriate court location in which the court event will take place.

Date

Enter the date of the court event.

 

Must be a future date within the next 6 months.

Time

Using the ‘Time’ drop down box, select the appropriate time of the court event.

Type

Using the ‘Type’ drop down box, select the appropriate type of court event.

Requires Intervention

Select ‘Y’ if the court event requires intervention, select ‘N’ if the court event does not require intervention.

Bring Forward Date

Enter bring forward date.  A work task will be issued to the Collection tool reminder once bring forward date has arrived.

 

Cannot exceed 60 days.

Remarks

Enter any comments regarding the file and court event.

Maximum characters = 200.

Click this button to finalize the process.
